Find the best Pregnancy Support products for a Comfortable labor

Why choose Natural birthing aids for your labor? Upright labor positions create optimal physiology during childbirth for you and your baby. This helps mothers manage the sensations of labor while making it easier for her baby to be born.

The CUB can provide essential support for pregnancy and labor. Designed by a registered midwife, this versatile and adaptable product promotes natural birthing positions and can ease discomfort during pregnancy. Made with hospital-grade, recyclable materials, it offers the best quality for a safe and healthy birth experience.

Why not shop just for the best birthing balls for home or hospital use? The CUB is not a birthing ball!

The CUB support was invented by a UK Registered Midwife as a product that has the benefits of birthing balls and birthstools without the disadvantages associated with both. It is the ONLY product in the world invented specifically for use during pregnancy, labor and during birth itself to Promote mobility and ease pelvic discomfort, while also supporting a wide range of optimal, upright positions during birth. The CUB provides all these advantages, not only for users benefiting from natural physiology but also for those that experience or have additional medical complications.

Balls, birth stools, couches, bean bags, furniture and obstetric beds all have limiting factors that restrict their use to specific situations and circumstances; this includes

·        The ability to balance and level of mobility the pregnant or labouring person has- many women with SPD in pregnancy often find the use of a ball uncomfortable and in active labor more difficult to use than in early labor.

·        A birth stool requires a high level of mobility and ability to balance for safe use; additionally, birth stools should be used only in second stage to reduce the risk of perineal congestion leading to increased trauma and blood loss.

·        Birth couches can only be accessed in maternity service premises and again can only be used by those with no epidural analgesia

·        Epidural or other analgesia chosen- the ability to balance and be stable in an upright position that maintains the safety of the user in these circumstances requires the use of a hospital bed.

·        Those who have chosen an epidural or those that need additional monitoring necessitating the use of a bed can still use the CUB to support an optimal position very safely on the bed when the CUB is used in a single inflation.

·        The cub can be used to sit on, kneel against, lean over to rest, squat on or against and can be used safely on a bed by those with an epidural

There is no such thing as a ‘birth ball’ they are gym balls that are useful in pregnancy and labour if the woman can balance

Although useful peanut balls are also gym/physio products not specifically designed for use in labor/birth.

Balls (any shape) are not usually bio-compatible, the CUB is. Highly toxic plasticizers (phthalates, PCBS, that are contra-indicated for use in pregnancy) are used to decrease costs and increase flexibility in balls (all shapes). The CUB is certified Phthalate and PCB free and has an additional bio-compatible coating.

Birth stools made from wood, metal or rigid plastic, are designed for use in second stage of labor and can only be used to sit on if the woman has use of her legs and can balance. Some evidence suggests that the use of rigid birth stools inhibits venous return resulting in increased perineal congestion, trauma and blood loss. The CUB has no rigid surface that could contribute to this.

Birth couches: bulky, not for use at home, only accessible to providers in low risk settings, high cost and can only be used by those that have full mobility; without: epidural, continuous (external/internal) monitoring, IV infusion or opiate analgesia.
